[SEP #5] Redistributing Unredeemed Tokens From User Airdrop Allocation, authored by @Daniel, had been updated with an informal temperature check vote to align on the final options and appears to settle on these five options. To minimise the overhead of implementing five SafeSnap specifications ahead of time, the Snapshot proposal will likely not make use of SafeSnap/Zodiac’s Reality.eth for onchain execution, but instead signal an outcome to the Safe Ecosystem Foundation. @Karo from Messari, who previously published a Messari research report on SafeDAO, posted a comment that echoes various previous comments when he raises concerns about the “the elephant in the room”: ”[G]overnors having the power to award themselves tokens is like putting a cookie jar in front of a kid and telling them not to eat it“, he says, arguing for a wider distribution of voting power instead. He suggests “Option 4: A+B in parallel, using ½ of unredeemed tokens for A and ½ for B”, or an even higher amount of tokens for “Allocation B” which currently would mean “Make no changes”.

Towards a Governance Framework for SafeDAO was updated to incorporate recent feedback. The thread also received further comments, such as a discussion around “efficiency” and how to balance speed of execution with quality of outcomes as well as how to best design the process to move proposals into the official “SEP” stage (phase 1) where proposals receive wider community attention, which arguably is desirable for broad alignment on the direction of a proposal at an early stage, but arguably also risky for overstraining the wider community’s attention span.
